In most social occasions you will find yourself in various situations where you will be sitting down and what’s more doing so in front of other people. You could be entering a car, or sitting on a chair, there is a correct way for a lady to do this:.
As you are about to lower your body smooth your skirt under you, and crucially do not sit with your legs apart. Remember you are wearing a skirt and not jeans. There is nothing appealing or attractive about someone in a skirt or dress sat with their legs wide apart, this is not ladylike behavior.
Sit straight down on the chair, and you can either cross your legs at the ankles or you can place your legs together with the heels slightly to the rear. Also move them slightly to the left of you.
Keep your back straight, it is important not to slouch.
Your left hand should be placed just above your knee and then your right hand should be placed on top of your left hand.
Always remember to keep your knees together. If you would prefer to cross your legs, sit knees together first and then cross. Keep your ankles together. Crossing your legs should be a gentle flowing movement not a big display!
