How to Professionally Apply Makeup

Start with your foundation. You really want a foundation color that matches your skin tone exactly; you want to blend it in. Blend the foundation all over your face with a make up sponge.

Concealer should also match your skin tone exactly. It is used to camouflage any discoloration, blemishes or redness you may have.

Once you have put your base on you want to set it with powder. I prefer using a loose powder while some people use a light pressed powder. This will fix the foundation in place and help it to last longer.

Next step is your eyebrows because they frames your face for the rest of your makeup. You can use a pencil or some people prefer to use powder.

Eye shadow: always start with the lightest eye shadow color, apply it with brush or sponge on the entire lid. Then you take your second color which is a little darker. Apply the second color right into your crease and just blend it in. You can actually use any color but it should always be a little darker than your base color.

Eyeliner: Line your eyes with a black eyeliner. You can use other colors although black is generally most effective.

Mascara: Applying mascara really finishes your eye. The number one thing, you want to do once you open your mascara, is wipe the excess on a tissue. Always ensure that you close your mascara tightly after use as they tend to dry out. You can apply 2 or 3 coats to really make your eyelashes more dramatic.

Finally finish off with lipliner and lipstick.
